We believe in providing resources for families so that caretakers will feel confident and comfortable talking about faith and spirituality with their kids. Our illustrated faith resources for families include coloring sheets, simple and practical devotionals for families, and fun activities. We hope to help create a safe space to talk about faith and share questions that children (and parents) have.
Faith Resources for Families
Illustrated Children’s Ministry initially began as an illustration business geared toward providing church staff and pastors with creative illustrations for telling Bible stories. However, we quickly realized that we would be remiss if we did not find ways to connect the church with families or provide families with resources that would be helpful, relevant, engaging, and accessible. We have created very simple but meaningful devotions for families during Advent, Lent, and the summer, and we’ve received very positive feedback from those who have used our materials in their homes with their families.
Our writers spend a lot of time crafting devotions that will be accessible for children of all ages. (These materials are normally tested out on Adam’s four-year old son!) So when we write discussion questions, we make sure to have some questions that anyone can answer, and then some “going deeper” types of questions.
Large Coloring Posters & Coloring Sheets
Our coloring sheets and large coloring posters aren’t just for churches to purchase. Many families use them at home, especially during the holidays, when lots of extended family are around. There is something about a child getting to color a giant coloring poster that is bigger than they are that is quite exciting. You can see some of our reviews on Instagram here, and hear how many people used the coloring posters at home with their kids. Below is just one example of how Crystal Paine, over at the Money Saving Mom, had a chance to engage with her kids while coloring the posters.
Today, we had so much fun working on these huge coloring posters from @illustratedcm! My kids thought they were SO cool and we smile and laughed as we listened to songs about Christ’s death and resurrection, colored together, and talked. Multiple times, my kids exclaimed, “I just LOVE these posters and it’s so fun to be lying on the floor coloring together!” And it made me so #happy. Even though #GoodFriday is traditionally thought of as a dark day, I’ve been thinking about how it is actually one of the most glorious days… Because it is through His death and resurrection that we have LIFE. Abundant LIFE! I want my kids to grasp a little taste of that today. May our hearts be overflowing with joy and gratitude for what this weekend represents. Family Devotional Material
In addition to the materials we create supporting churches, we have also been providing supplemental faith resources for families to use at home. We create devotional material for families to use during Advent, Lent and during the summer. These all generally include coloring sheets, activities for families to do together, as well as devotionals that don’t require any preparation and are very accessible.
Below are a few of our favorite photos from families during Advent and Lent.

We are always looking to create additional illustrated faith resources for families, so if there is something you think would be beneficial for your family’s faith formation, please suggest a product to us here.
